  1. You need 3 cups of Rice.
  2. You need 1/3 cup of Bengal gram.

  11. Get 1 pinch of Asafoetida.
  12. Use 2 tbsp of Peanut.
  13. Take 2 tbsp of Sunflower oil.
  14. Prepare 1 cup of Green peas.
  15. Take 50 gm of Paneer.

Steps to make Khichdi:

  1. Clean the rice and Bengal gram and soak it in water.
  2. Heat 2 tbsp of oil in the pressure cooker.
  3. Add Peanut, asafoetida, cumin seeds, green chillies and ginger.
  4. Add tomatoes, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt mix well cook for 3-4 mins.
  5. Drain off the water from rice and Bengal gram and add it to the mixture in the cooker.
  6. Mix well and cook for 10 mins keep stirring so that it does not stick to the bottom of the cooker..
  7. Add enough water (appx.7cups) so that there is a layer of 1.5 cm of water floating on top of the rice dal mixture..
  8. Mix well and then close the cooker with it's lid. Pressure cook upto 3 whistles. Serve hot with curd and pickle..
